Hi! Any tips for reserving a 2 bedroom Villa at the Beach Club? I am a little nervous that they will all be booked since you can't book them 499 days in advance like other rooms. Any advice on reserving one would be awesome! Thanks!!

Let me start by admitting that I have never reserved a Villa myself, and I am not a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member.

When we have looked for larger accommodations in the past, we usually rented a house off-site.  However, I did recently stay in a one BR Villa at Saratoga Springs for a WDW event, and I must say I was impressed and gained a better appreciation for why the DVC is so popular.

So, to help me answer your question, I got some guidance from the other "Moms," other friends in the Disney online community, and some cast members I spoke with. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one magical answer to your question, instead I think it takes some patience, luck, and sometimes some flexibility (if you don't find availability).  There is no specific standard timing when Disney releases Villas to the general public, but I now understand that it is often around 6 to 7 months in advance.  There is a lot of variability around that timing because it depends very much on the level of demand.

To get a better idea about demand, I'd recommend you go to the DIS forums (www.disboards.com) and look for the "DVC-Resort Reservation Availability" section in the Disney Vacation Club area.  This section can give you a much better idea about which resorts are selling out each month, and what the general demand level looks like.  If you poke around, you might also find some other great advice on the threads in the DVC area.

Now I know this isn't a small decision to make, but you might also want to think about the fact that if you plan to rent Villas more than once or twice in the next few years, it starts to make much more economic sense to purchase DVC.  You also avoid this whole "nervously waiting" phenomenon! ;-)

    Hope that helps a bit.
