Any tips, help or info on taking a 2 year old to WDW aug 24th - sep 3rd? I know it's hot and she's not a cranky kid, but any help about rides, daycare, heat, tips, etc will be much appreciative. Please and thank you!

    Hi Brian!

The time of year that you are visiting is actually wonderful. I've brought my kids to Walt Disney World on Labor Day weekend since they were toddlers and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

It is still hot during August, the average high temp is 91 and average low is 73. Many of the attractions throughout the parks are indoors and the majority of the line queue are in covered or indoor areas. For example, with Mickey's Philharmagic, you are able to wait indoors in the air conditioning the entire time! Same with Pirates of the Caribbean and others. When touring the parks, a tip that worked for me was bringing a spray bottle filled with water and spritz my kids when we were out in the heat for a while. It helped cool them off. Also, bring a refillable water bottle to ensure the entire family is staying hydrated. Every Quick Service location will provide you with ice water, so you can buy bottled water or get a cup of ice water throughout day.

Many times it works well to take a mid-day break with toddlers to avoid an overtired melt down. If you are staying onsite it is particulary easy to take a bus or monorail back to your resort during the hot afternoon hours and then go back to the parks at night for fireworks.

The time of year you are visiting has low crowd levels, which helps tremendously.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else at all!

    Magically,
    Stacy
