Are there any tips/ advice for last minute reservations? I have let time get away from me and we will be in Disney in a week and I have not made any dining reservations....ugghhh we have to have breakfast at chef mickeys or I'll some upset kids!!

Chef Mickey's is one of the more difficult advanced dining reservations to get, so I am crossing my fingers that you are able to secure one of the coveted reservation time slots!  The only advice I can give you on last minute dining reservations is to keep calling and trying to catch a cancellation.  Be flexible with times - you might have to take a late dinner or an early breakfast.  Call even on the day you are hoping to get a meal there, because there is always a possibility that something will open up.

I try not to recommend to people with children to just walk up to a restaurant like Chef Mickey's and hope for a spot to be available.  My reason for not recommending it is because the kids see the restaurant and get all excited, and then if you can't get in, they are so disappointed.  However, if you are desperate, and you have an extra adult in the party, you can head over to the Contemporary, and have one adult run up to the restaurant to see if they can squeeze you in, while the other adult occupies the kids by using the excuse that you wanted to visit a gift shop for something.

As far as other dining options, you still have a week, so you might want to call now and see what other options might be open for you.  You might find something at one of the other wonderful restaurants if you are willing to be flexible with the schedule.  Don't forget some of the great Downtown Disney restaurants when checking availability.  T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe are two of my girls' favorite dining locations!

    Good luck!
