Tipping at WDW? Do you tip the characters that picuters are taken with? What is customary for the bell hops and housekeeping? This will be our first trip to Disney. Thanks

Tip Mickey? No way, Tanya. Mickey and his photographers are there for the enjoyment of guests, there's no need to tip them. In fact, the general rule of thumb is that there is no one to tip inside the theme parks other than table service restaurant servers and folks involved in your personal beautification, such as Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique stylists.

Bell hops usually get a dollar per bag, any time they handle your bag in your presence.

Housekeepers should be tipped a dollar per day, per person in the room. It's customary to leave a tip each day, because your housekeeper may change daily. You should also leave a small "thank you" note so that the housekeeper knows that the tip is for her.

If you're interested in a longer discussion of tipping at Walt Disney World, you may want to head over to the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for an article called, "Frequently Asked Questions About Tipping at Walt Disney World."

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
