Well ahoy there Claire, and welcome to planDisney - your shore to sea destination to ask anything to prepare you before you set sail!
I'm so excited for your upcoming voyage on board the
Disney Wish, especially since you've decided to pair it with a
Pre-Cruise stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Being able to bridge the worlds of
Land and Sea is one of the most seamless ways to keep that magic going as you transition from your stay to experience similar
tropical island vibes in the Bahamas!
I just got off the Disney Wish today and you'll be happy to hear that two of our friends sailing with us stayed for one night Disney's Polynesian Village Resort just before the cruise and took advantage of a
ground transfer to Port Canaveral. Here's what they experienced:
- As they checked in at the Front Desk upon their arrival, they received their designated meeting time in order to take the motor coach the following morning. They were asked to meet at 7:30 a.m. EST ahead of a departure time just after 8:00 a.m. EST.
- The Bell Services Cast Members had additional Disney Cruise Line luggage tags available; these are required to identify the luggage that Bell Services collected directly from outside their Disney Resort Hotel room door to be transferred directly outside their stateroom on board. In their experience, they were told to have these ready and appropriately tagged prior to 7:00 a.m. EST on the morning of their voyage.
- The motor coach made stops to pick up guests from other Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, for a ride that lasted over two hours in their experience.
(While policies, timing and offerings are always subject to change without prior notice, I hope that their experience can give you a more recent idea of what that morning may entail for you later this month.)
Something that I can recommend as a fun way to kick off your voyage, is by taking advantage of having a pre-cruise celebration at
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. I previously gave
my personal tips and tricks for getting in early with kids in order to experience all of the fun theming elements and ingenuity that extends to the cleverly
imagineered spaces on board.
Please come on back to planDisney to ask
me any more questions about your upcoming voyage on board the Disney Wish, and be sure to connect with our Disney Cruise Line specialists
Tracie and
Adrianna for the oceans of cruising knowledge that they're happy to share!
Wishing you all the best on your early-morning quest!
