What time can I start booking dining reservations

BRRIINGG! That's the sound of your alarm clock, Jerri! Welcome to planDisney where it's never too late - or too early - to plan your next Walt Disney World Resort visit. Since time is of the essence, let's talk about booking those all-important advanced dining reservations.

Guests can book most dining and Enchanting Extras 60 days in advance, so your window looks like it will open soon! According to the website, reservations typically open around 6:00 AM EST. I like to set my alarm for 5:45 AM, brew a strong cup of coffee, put on my Mickey Mouse slippers, and log in. My friends say they've occasionally been able to start booking a few minutes before 6:00, but that's never been the case for me.

If you're registered at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can make reservations for the length of your stay, which is a huge advantage. For hard-to-get reservations, such as character meals, my tip is to try for those first and look for openings later in your visit for the best availability.

Sometimes, our best-planned trips go astray, but Hakuna Matata! Keep checking if you don't secure a reservation at your top choice. I often check availability on the My Disney Experience mobile app when I'm on the go. I recently found an opening for Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge while sitting at a red light!

Jerri, I'm wishing on a star that you'll snag the dining reservations you dream of. But remember, nothing fills you up like a good ol' Mickey Pretzel! Have a magical visit and stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
