Hi Jocelyn, and welcome to planDisney!
Timing your arrival at the Disneyland Resort, including the
Downtown Disney District, is such an important part of a great visit. After all, it’s the beginning of your adventure, and the magic often starts the moment you park!
I connected with a helpful Cast Member named Veronica Rose, who confirmed that the Simba Lot follows the same operating hours as the Downtown Disney District. You can find those hours listed in the
Daily Events Calendar on the Disneyland website.
Currently the first hour of parking is $10, and validations kick in after that initial paid hour. Additional time costs $14 per hour (charged in 30-minute increments, with a $7 minimum). The maximum daily rate is $66. If you’re dining or shopping, you can receive 3 additional hours of same-day parking with a $20-minimum purchase and validation from any Downtown Disney location, or up to 5 hours with validation from a table-service restaurant. Keep in mind these rates can change, so it’s a good idea to check the latest info before your visit.
You also have the option of parking in the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals parking structures. These garages offer easy access to the Downtown Disney District via a pedestrian walkway and currently charge $35 per car or motorcycle (also subject to change). These lots open 60 minutes before the earliest theme park opening time, which is also posted in the Daily Events Calendar.
And Jocelyn, if you plan to visit the parks and want a memorable entrance, don’t miss the Disneyland Monorail! Located right inside Downtown Disney, this “highway in the sky” glides straight into Tomorrowland, giving you a uniquely magical view before you even scan your ticket. On your way out, it’s the perfect chance to soak in the sights of Sleeping Beauty Castle and Space Mountain one last time.
I hope this helps with your plans! If you have more questions, we’re always here at planDisney and happy to help.
Have a magical day,
David
