What time does parking lot open for cars? We are trying to decide if week after Easter we rent a car or take the bus to Hollywood. We were nervous being at Saratoga springs getting room on bus but I hear busses get in park first over cars.

    Hello, Mary!

Mary, you share a name with one of my absolute favorite Disney characters. I wonder if we both share a love of a very magical nanny from Cherry Tree Lane.

As I am sure you know, the parking lots at each theme park do close overnight. After all, they have to give those charming chimney sweeps plenty of time to do their thing, and practice a few new dance moves besides. So, officially the parking lots open about 45 minutes to an hour before the theme parks published opening time. Whenever Bert and his friends have finished up.

Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios tend to open closer to an hour before while Disney's Animal Kingdom and EPCOT typically open a little closer to the official park opening time.

I will say that on my last visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth we took the Disney Skyliner to Disney's Hollywood Studios and were in line waiting for our temperature screening before they opened the parking lot. So I would say based on my personal experience that you may have a little edge taking Disney transportation for rope drop.

I hope that gave you a bit of guidance, Mary. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help make your vacation practically perfect in every way.

    Have a Supercalafragalisticexpealadocious vacation!
