What time can we grab a booklet for Wilderness Explorers at Animal Kingdom when there is Extra Magic Hours? Also, for Kilimanjaro Safaris and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, what does (subject to availability) mean?

“Caw! Caw! Roar,” Jamie, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You’ll find an official Wilderness Guide distributing handbooks at Wilderness Explorer headquarters beginning at 10 a.m. daily, and you’ll find Guides there and throughout the park typically until 5 p.m. (although times are always subject to change). To see the specific availability for your visit, pick up a Times Guide at the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

While the official Wilderness Explorer headquarters (located just over the bridge between Oasis and Discovery Island) will be your best place to grab a Wilderness Explorer handbook, there may be some available at the other official starting locations on Discovery Island and in Pandora - The World of Avatar, Africa (when you exit Kilimanjaro Safaris or along the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail), Asia and DinoLand U.S.A.

Make sure you check out the Times Guide to see if you can meet Russell and/or Dug (typically near the entrance to It’s Tough to be a Bug!). You can also see them in the all new UP! A Great Bird Adventure show in Asia. And speaking of birds, just yesterday I heard that Kevin had made an appearance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, too. I'm definitely looking forward to the possibility of seeing that great bird!

Enjoy your time exploring the Wilderness, Jamie!
