    The only time we can go w/ our 2 kids and my parents is the week after Thanksgiving.Someone suggested instead of just the typical package, buying annual pass to get discounts on resorts and dining. Will that be better than a package and will it work then?

    Hi Tracy!
    Throughout the year, promotions and special offers are available for annual passholders. As a current AP holder, I can definitely speak to the value of these. AP holders are usually given a room discount, and can add the dining plan to their reservation without having to purchase any additional park tickets, which is required of a non AP reservation. You can save anywhere from 25-40% on your hotel stay, depending on the resort.
    With general special offers, you would have to choose between the free dining promotion or room discount. You would not be able to combine the room discount with the dining promotion. You would be required to add a minimum two day base ticket for each person to your reservation. Currently, there is a free dining offer which is available for the week after Thanksgiving, so there is a good chance that an AP room discount will be released for that time frame as well.
    The one caveat to AP is the price. It is approximately $611 per person, which is quite a chunk of change if you are only visiting the parks once or twice throughout the year. I have found that if we purchase it just at the right time to cover two to three or more trips, we do get our moneys worth.
