Ahoy, Maranda!
Congratulations on your first Disney Cruise! Sometimes last minute plans are the best because it makes the wait time way more bearable! If you are setting sail on April 17, you must be cruising on the
Disney Dream, which is an excellent choice for your first experience aboard Disney Cruise Line!
There will be many fun things to do on your cruise vacation including
Pirate Night, which is typically scheduled for Night Three. I highly recommend dressing up like pirates for all the festivities. There will be pirate games, a deck party, character photo opportunities and a firework spectacular! It will be a swashbuckling good time on the high seas!
When we cruised for the first time, my son was one and we utilized the nursery a lot. He loved going, and I enjoyed being able to pop in and see him through the two-way glass without him even knowing I was there. Our sailing was a seven-night so we got off twice while he stayed on the ship in the nursery. It's a personal choice to leave little ones onboard, but we felt very comfortable both times. When you board the ship, I recommend visiting
"it's a small world" nursery! to meet the trained counselors and let your little one explore the area. I also suggest making your reservations early, as space is limited.
I'm so excited for your magical journey on the Disney Dream, Maranda! I hope it will be the first of "minnie!" Please let us know if you have any other questions before you set sail.
