It is our 13th time at Disney and we have always stayed at the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. This time our budget allowed us the Moderate resort. We are a family with 2 teens - Star Wars fans Should we stay at the Caribbean or Port Orleans?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Nelson Eduardo!  We are glad you came to us for help in planning your trip.

Let me begin by saying you really can't go wrong with either resort.  They are both beautiful resorts, and the rooms have similar layouts.  I have long been a fan of Disney's Port Orleans Resorts, and have stayed at both Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter many times.  One of my favorite amenities there is the boat service to Disney Springs.  It is such a relaxing journey down the Sassagoula River.  If I had answered this question a couple of years ago, my top choice would have been Disney's Port Orleans Resort.  However, in this case, I think I would have to go with Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.  This resort has recently completed a transformation, and the main building at Old Port Royale is gorgeous.  Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort also has some really solid dining options, with Sebastian's Bistro and Spyglass Grill.  What really puts it over the top for me is the new Disney Skyliner service.  Disney Skyliner makes it so quick and easy to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios for your Star Wars fans!  Transit time from Disney's Caribbean Beach Skyliner station to Disney's Hollywood Studios is about 5 minutes.  Disney Skyliner also makes it super easy to get to other resorts for dining or entertainment.  I highly recommend checking out Disney's brand new Riviera Resort and Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera.  Or perhaps take Disney Skyliner to the Epcot (International Gateway) station, where you can grab an ice cream from Ample Hills Creamery while enjoying the evening entertainment along Disney's BoardWalk.

I hope that helps!  If you have any additional questions as you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, please stop by the Moms Panel again anytime.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
