1st time cruisers sailing on the Wonder to AK on 7/22/13 - just DH &I. We have to be on board by 4:00 pm, but what's the earliest we can board? How long should we allow for the boarding process? Are we free to explore the ship if we board early?

Welcome aboard, Kelsey! You are going to have such an amazing experience sailing Disney Cruise Line to Alaska this summer!

Typically, Disney Cruise Line starts boarding anywhere from 11:45 to 1:00. You should receive a Port Arrival Time, or choose your own, when you check in online. This will tell you when to arrive at the port. Once there you can finalize your check-in, and will receive a boarding number. Once your boarding number is called, it's time to set foot on the ship!

As you board, you will be welcomed by the Cast Members in the atrium and directed to one of two spots for lunch. Then you are free to explore the ship, drop your carry-on bags in your stateroom once those are ready, and get set for the Safety Drill, which is usually around 4:00. Then, be sure to head up to the pool deck for the Sail Away party! Wave goodbye to the port and celebrate as you head off on your Disney cruise adventure!

Have fun planning, Kelsey and please let me know if I can help with anything else before you set sail!
