1st time cruisers in my family: my hubby and my 4yr old princess. Which Disney cruise vacation would you recommend? 7 days is perfect for us (4-5 is too short) and we are not interested in the Bahamas or Caribbean. We will want to travel June 2015 - Nov.

Welcome aboard, Kristen! Isn't it exciting to begin planning your first cruise with Disney? There are so many options, you can certainly find the one that is perfect for your family.

You mentioned you would like a seven-night sailing that is not in the Bahamas or Caribbean, so I have some great suggestions for you. I agree that the shorter cruises are not quite long enough. Though we've sailed with Disney on cruises of all lengths, the longer ones are always our favorites because we get more magical time onboard!

June through November of next year offers some really exciting options for sailing outside of the traditional Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries. Check out the Disney Magic's European and Northern European sailings next summer. In addition, there are trans-Atlantic crossings that include lots of magical days at sea which are wonderful too! I enjoyed every single moment of my adventures with Disney Cruise Line in Europe last year. From one-of-a-kind Port Adventures to activities onboard for guests that relate to the upcoming ports of call, you'll not only enjoy your time but learn so much history and culture along the way!

If you're looking for a really different experience, the Disney Wonder's Alaskan sailings are truly unique! There's nothing quite like sailing through Tracy Arm and feeling as if you can almost reach out and touch the icebergs as you taste Alaskan salmon cooked out on deck for guests! Add to that the cool as can be (excuse the pun!) Port Adventures in Alaska, and it's a recipe for a very memorable trip!

Next summer Disney is offering two very special Hawaiian sailings from Southern California out to a few of the Hawaiian islands!

Finally, as the Disney Wonder leaves the Atlantic and heads over to the Pacific for the summer, and back again in the fall, guests can book two-week sailings through the Panama Canal.

    Have fun planning, Kristen!
