Welcome to planDisney, Janet! Ending your Disney day with a nighttime spectacular is one of the most magical ways to wrap up your visit. Add in a tray of desserts and a sparkling beverage, and you’ve got the recipe for an evening you won’t forget.
For the
World of Color Happiness! Dessert Party, in-person check-in is located at the Eureka water wheel near
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure. If you prefer, you can also use the
Disneyland app for mobile check-in starting two hours before your reservation time. Just a friendly reminder: your reservation time refers to when you’ll be seated at your table, not the actual start time of the show. (For example, if you’re attending the 10:15 p.m. performance on Friday, August 28, your reservation would be at 9:15 p.m., which means you could mobile check-in as early as 7:15 p.m.)
After checking in, you’re welcome to continue exploring attractions until closer to showtime, or you can head directly to the lighted sign that marks the seating area for the Dessert Party. This sign is usually located in Paradise Gardens Park, across from
The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. I recommend arriving at the check-in queue about 20 minutes before your reservation time to give yourself the best chance at a great table. Once seated, you’ll be able to enjoy your treats, snacks, and beverages while the magic of Paradise Bay comes to life before your eyes.
Speaking of nighttime viewing spots, I have a little Q-Tip for you! For the first performance of Paint the Night, consider heading to the entrance of “it’s a small world.” While Main Street fills up quickly, this area tends to feel more relaxed and still provides a wonderful view of the glowing floats as they pass by. As an added bonus, this spot positions you perfectly for the evening fireworks. Once the last firework fades, stay right there to enjoy A Tapestry of Happiness, a projection spectacular that transforms the “it’s a small world” façade into a luminous storybook celebrating Disneyland’s history.
Janet, I hope this helps you plan a truly magical evening at both Disney California Adventure and Disneyland. Whether you’re watching colors dance across Paradise Bay, catching a parade, or soaking up the seasonal atmosphere, the nighttime hours at the Disneyland Resort always sparkle with unforgettable wonder. Wishing you a night filled with lights, laughter, and plenty of pixie dust,
