How much time should I allow to get from Chef Mickey's back to Magic Kingdom? We have a 1:25 lunch reservation (only time we could get) and I'd like to get back for the 3:00 parade. Does that seem possible?

    Hi Erin!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Chef Mickey's is my family's favorite place to enjoy Character Dining!  From Disney's Contemporary Resort, you can either take the monorail or walk to Magic Kingdom Park. I would allow approximately 20 minutes if traveling by monorail and 10 minutes if walking, which is my personal recommendation.

I do believe it's going to be rather challenging to make it back to Magic Kingdom Park in time for the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. In the past, we have always encountered a short wait before being seated at Chef Mickey's. Our dining experience at Chef Mickey's usually takes at least 60 minutes. I do want to mention that many Guests secure a seat at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the parade for optimal viewing. That being said, the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade originates in Frontierland and ends at Town Square, which will give you a little extra time to hopefully enter the park and see the floats before they exit near the Harmony Barber Shop.

I would recommend that you continue to check back periodically to see if you can find availability for an earlier Advanced Dining Reservation. You never know when someone else may change their plans and need to cancel an Advanced Dining Reservation. Please don't hesitate to visit us again with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip, Erin!

    Happy Travels,
