Welcome to planDisney, Bradley! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. I'm happy to help clarify some details about tickets so you can plan your upcoming visit!
Since you asked about out-of-state family members, it might be possible that you're asking about
Florida Resident tickets. Those are non-transferable and must be used by the person they were originally assigned to. Each guest using a Florida Resident ticket needs to provide
proof of Florida residency, like a driver's license or another form of approved ID, before the ticket can be activated. So, unfortunately, a Florida Resident ticket cannot be transferred to someone who lives outside of Florida.
However, if you have a regular,
standard theme park ticket that hasn't been used yet, there's a chance you may be able to transfer it to a family member. You can check by opening the
My Disney Experience app, selecting a ticket, and seeing if the option to reassign it to someone else is available. If it's already been used, even just once, it's locked to the original guest and cannot be transferred. If you have further questions about your tickets, the
hotline for existing tickets will be happy to take a look at what you've got in My Disney Experience and let you know what all your options are!
I hope this answers your question, Bradley, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
