Hiya, Debra! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm thrilled to hear that you're planning a visit to
Walt Disney World Resort this fall! I know you're wondering if you'll be able to purchase tickets at the gate when you arrive. The answer is – maybe! The theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort have ticket windows that will sell tickets when they're available. Since you'll be making some big plans to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth, I wouldn't want you to miss a minute of the magic if the park you're hoping to visit that day doesn't have tickets available. I strongly do not recommend waiting to purchase your tickets at the gate.
Additionally, Walt Disney World Resort has a new reservation system that is required for Guests to enter the parks. Not only will Guests need a ticket, but you will also need a
theme park reservation made with the Disney Park Pass system. And this is very important since some days do get booked up in advance. In fact, you can take a peek at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to make sure that the parks you wish to visit are available when you make your theme park reservations! With that being said, my best tip would be to
purchase your tickets online in advance, then immediately make your
theme park reservations with the Disney Park Pass System.
Before you arrive, I'd also recommend that you take some time to download and explore the
My Disney Experience app! This app will allow you to check wait times for attractions, access
virtual queues, and even
mobile order food and snacks. This is a great way to minimize waits and maximize the fun!
