I have 4 tickets from before the pandemic. We now have 2 other guests to buy tickets for. I booked June 12-18 but didn't know about the reservations. Hollywood doesn't look unreserved until the 19th of June. Is this correct? Does that change?

    Hello Kara!

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy you have been able to reschedule your pandemic trip, and will finally get to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth! For Disney to reopen in a safer manner, the Disney Park Pass System was introduced to limit the number of Guests in the theme parks. In addition to your purchased Disney Theme Park Tickets, each Guest will need a complimentary Disney Park Pass Reservation to enter the theme park each day.

The Park Pass Reservations have started booking several weeks in advance. Since Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the smallest park in terms of physical size and has two of the newest attractions it tends to book first. As I look at the Theme Park Availability Calendar, I am not seeing availability at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before June 20, 2021.

If you have not already booked your Disney Park Passes for your trip, I would book them today. Even if you cannot book Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you should still book something for each day you intend to visit a theme park. Other Guests’ plans do change, and part of my experience as an expert Disney traveler is that pixie dust sometimes falls on those that check back often and stalk reservations. If you are set on visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios and have the time, I would check availability once or twice per day, and you may get lucky.

Another idea would be to consider the Park Hopper Option for your tickets. Park Hopping allows you to visit a different theme park after 2 PM, as long as there is capacity in that park. While June is a long way off and things could change, I’m seeing that wait times at Disney’s Hollywood Studios tends to drop toward the end of the day, and Park Hopping is usually available. While this option would not allow you to try for a Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group, you would still get to experience the other attractions in this amazing theme park. If you have already purchased tickets without the Park Hopper Option, this can be still be added to your tickets!

I hope this helps with your planning, Kara. And sending you pixie dust to snag the perfect Park Pass Reservations!
