Thanks for bringing your great question to the Moms Panel, Loreen! If you haven't experienced
Happily Ever After yet, you're in for quite a treat! It's an 18-minute firework spectacular and is a beautiful grand finale to your day at Magic Kingdom Park. Booking a
Fireworks Dessert Party is a smart decision, as the dazzling projections on Cinderella Castle are the best part of the show and are better viewed head-on.
At certain times of the year, it is common for the Magic Kingdom to close when Happily Ever After begins. In your situation, it means no new Guests will be admitted to the park after 9:00 PM and Cast Members will close down the entrances to the attraction queues (although they will allow any Guests who were already in line to still ride). As a general rule,
transportation will continue to operate until one hour after a theme park’s closing time, so feel free to relax and enjoy the Dessert Party (don't miss the Ooey gooey toffee cake which has gotten rave reviews). I think you'll find that most Guests will leave immediately after the show, so the lines for the monorails and buses will be much shorter when you're ready to leave.
May is a fabulous time for a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort, by the way! You'll enjoy lower crowds and beautiful weather- plus you'll be there at the perfect time to enjoy the 2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I hope your vacation is a blast, Loreen!
