I have tickets to Disneyland and hotel booked for this upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, a rain storm is coming as well. Will Disney still be open? Will the kids be able to get on the rides and meet the characters?

    Hi there Kimberly,

Thank you for writing the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm thrilled for your upcoming vacation this weekend to The Happiest Place on Earth, you all must be counting down the hours!

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will be open rain or shine. If it really starts to storm, some attractions may close down temporarily for safety reasons.

If you would like to stay dry, head over to a showing of “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” at Disney California Adventure Park or catch a showing of The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln on Main Street, U.S.A. Afterwards you could browse the shops on Main Street U.S.A.

However if you are up for it, grab a poncho and take advantage of the shorter lines at some of the attractions.

As far as the Character Meet 'N' Greets, some of them are indoors, for the outdoor ones, they may be able to move them to an indoor location, it just depends on how hard it rains.

I hope this helps and that you have a pixie-dusted visit. If you have any more questions, please write me back and let me know how I can help you plan your magical vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
