Chris,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Don't worry, this is new for most guests, and it can be hard to understand the first time around. The program basically lets you secure what park you will visit on each day of your vacation. A park reservation is required at this time, but the nice thing is that you are guaranteed entry. You don't have to worry about your planned destination being filled to capacity, leaving you standing at the gates looking in.
All you need to do is reserve your primary park for each of your days, and doing so is easy, if you follow these steps. But first, you do want to be sure that your theme park tickets are already linked in your My Disney Experience account. Just in case, let me go through the steps to link tickets, and then the steps to pick your parks.
Linking Your TicketsOn your desktop computer: Starting at the Walt Disney World website, go to
"My Disney Experience" from the top menu, at the far right. In that drop down menu, select
"My Plans". You should see a series of circles lined up horizontally, one each for different kinds of reservations. There is one for resort hotel reservations, park tickets, park reservations, and dining. Hover over the
"Park Tickets" circle, and then click on the
"Link" button that pops up. Enter your confirmation numbers and it will add them to your plans.
On a smartphone: If you are doing this on the
My Disney Experience App on a smartphone, click on the three horizontal bar menu button on the lower right corner of the app. From there you should see buttons for those same options. Just follow the steps there to add your confirmation numbers, and you should be ready to go.
Picking Your ParksNow that you have your tickets linked, it is time to get your Theme Park Reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. To do so, follow these steps.
- Start by going to the main Walt Disney World website and hovering over "My Disney Experience" from the top menu, at the far right.
- In that drop down menu, select "Disney Park Pass System". From here you can check theme park reservation availability (by ticket type), purchase park admission (if you don't already have tickets) and make a park reservation. Just follow whichever path meets your needs.
When you go through the steps, just remember to be certain that all your party members are selected before picking your park. You will follow the procedure each time to reserve each park, but it should not take you more than a few minutes to get it all done.
BONUS TIP #1
I looked at the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar, and at the time of this answer, all four parks are available for all the days that you listed! So you should be able to get your picks, if you do so right away.
BONUS TIP #2
You can change your park selections later, if you want to. The park you change to would have to still have availability, but assuming it does you will just cancel the initial park reservation before making your updated choice. Just always be sure to check that the park you are looking to select is still available on that date.
Write me back if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
