Hi, Carol! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with your question. Walt Disney World Resort recently changed to a date-based ticket system. Whereas the previous Magic Your Way theme park tickets were valid for 14 days after their first use, the new Disney Theme Park Tickets are valid based on the dates indicated when you purchase them. So, your ticket's first day will be based on what you choose during their purchase. You may use either a theme park admission or
"Plus" admission first. You can actually use both of these types of admission on the first day. That kind of sounds like a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious way to begin your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
When you head to the
new ticketing page, you will see where you can indicate the type of ticket you would like and how many days you plan to visit a theme park. When you use the calendar to choose a specific start date for your ticket, then the price listed on that day is how much you will pay per day for it. So, say you bought a 5-Day Park Hopper Plus ticket with February 24, 2019, as the start date. It would cost $100 per day and would be valid for nine days. This ticket would activate on February 24, 2019, and expire March 4, 2019. All admissions to theme parks and other "Plus" locations would need to be used by the indicated expiration date. Be sure to look for the expiration date on your tickets!
Carol, if you do by chance have some older Magic Your Way tickets with either Water Park Fun and More or the Plus options, then your first-day use options remain the same. You may go to either a theme park or one of the extra locations first. Using a "fun" spot first will activate the ticket and start the 14-day countdown. I hope this helps you! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
