Hi Patricia!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney where experienced Disney Guests like me are here to answer your trip planning questions, offer tips, tricks, and advice for planning the perfect Disney vacation!
We just visited the Disneyland Resort in California last weekend with tickets we were supposed to use during the summer of 2020, and we had this same situation apply to us. Although we didn’t get to travel as originally planned, it was wonderful to finally walk down Main Street, U.S.A. in Walt Disney’s footsteps.
Patricia, the
ticket policy states that
Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets are non-refundable. But not to worry, you don't lose the value paid for unused tickets. While you can’t get a refund, wholly unused multi-day tickets and 1-Day tickets can have their value applied toward a ticket for another date. So if you reschedule for next summer, you can use the value paid for your December ticket toward the purchase of a ticket for the summer at the same or higher price point. While you can have your current ticket exchanged for a ticket priced at a lower rate, you will not receive a refund for any difference, so please be prepared for that.
Wholly unused multi-day tickets and 1-Day tickets can be transferred to another Guest if needed. So if one member of your party had a change of plans and couldn’t use their ticket, you could bring another family or friend in their place, and reassign that unused ticket. This offers you another option if you don’t need to reschedule entirely.
I hope this helps to answer your question, Patricia. Whenever you choose to travel, I hope you have a magical visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort!
