Welcome to planDisney, Nemanja, and happiest of birthdays to you! Let’s make sure your ticket situation is as smooth as possible so you can focus on the fun ahead.
Here’s a bit of magic for you: if your friend purchased a
standard Disneyland Resort theme park ticket, there’s no need to stress about the name printed on it. The ticket doesn’t truly “belong” to someone until it’s first scanned at the entrance to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. At that moment, a quick photo is taken, and from then on, the ticket is tied to that Guest’s picture rather than the name on the screen. So even if the ticket shows your friend’s name, you’ll have no problem using it once you walk through the gate.
Still, if you’d feel more comfortable with the name updated, there is an option. The original ticket purchaser can reach out to
Disneyland Ticket Services, either by phone or through the chat feature in the
Disneyland app. A helpful Cast Member will review the request and let you know if a name change can be arranged.
Since you mentioned tickets, I’d love to recommend downloading the Disneyland app if you haven’t already. It’s one of the handiest tools you can have for your trip. Not only will it keep your tickets safe in digital form, but it also shares attraction wait times, dining options with mobile ordering, and a full list of entertainment times. Just tap “Entertainment” in the app to see the schedule for parades, stage shows, and nighttime spectaculars during your visit.
Another gem in the app is the “Characters” tab, which shows where your favorite Disney friends are greeting Guests throughout the day. A little Q-Tip for you: Main Street is often the best starting spot if you’re hoping to meet Mickey, Minnie, or Goofy.
Nemanja, I hope this gives you peace of mind about your ticket and adds some extra excitement to your birthday visit. If more questions pop up as you prepare, we’d be thrilled to help you again here at planDisney.
Wishing you a wonderful celebration,
David
