After going thru 2 difficult years, I booked an early Dec. trip to DW for my family (DH, DS13) as a "reward" for surviving! I'm trying to keep it a secret, even working with my DH's boss to secure secret vacation days. How would you surprise them

    Hi Beth,

I love your idea to reward your family for surviving and celebrating with some Disney pixie dust!

Some wonderful ideas can be found not only on the the Disney Parks Moms Panel site but throughout the internet. Here are some of my favorites I have recommended in the past.

You could have a scavenger hunt using different clues which all lead to Disney World. The dollar stores have lots of inexpensive knickknacks for you to use to help you design a quick and easy hunt for your family.

Do they have a favorite character? Find items or pictures that relate to those characters and have the characters announce the trip.

How about a favorite Disney movie? You could schedule a movie night to watch it. Have your husband and son open the video case with a note inside that says something about visiting the characters in the movie or touring the "movie lot" where it was filmed.

You could make family t-shirts and present them to them. The options are endless.

The one thing I will have you think about is when to tell them. My children would love the surprise but they would also want to be in on the planning. Springing a trip on them 20 minutes before we leave would not work. However, you family may like that so your reveal could even be on the way to the airport by playing 20 questions to what the destination is for the trip.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
