Hello Philip! Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney!
I think planning a magical and memorable trip to
Walt Disney World Resort in honor of your late wife sounds like a perfect way to continue the healing process of losing her. Walt Disney World Resort means so much to so many people and we as Guests all connect to it in different ways. I'm sorry to hear about your wife and sincerely hope this trip brings you peace, beautiful memories, and a smile.
You'll be happy to know that a Cast Member I spoke with this morning said you are able to bring your cane into the Theme Parks and through the lines at Walt Disney World Resort. Canes are not part of the
list of prohibited items and in fact, can even be taken on to most rides and attractions with you. If you do need to leave the cane outside of the ride vehicle, a Cast Member will be happy to store it with the wheelchairs of other Guests and you will be able to pick it up again as soon as you depart the ride.
Make sure to take plenty of snack breaks during the day so that you have time to rest and recharge! Was your wife's favorite a Premium Mickey Bar? Or maybe a
DOLE Whip!? I'm sure delighting in some of her favorite snacks will bring you happy memories. Also, take time to enjoy the new nighttime fireworks displays in both
Magic Kingdom and
EPCOT. Both
Disney Enchantment and
Harmonious are spectacular, jaw-dropping and not-to-be-missed!
I hope you have the most wonderful stay, Philip! Keep coming back and making magical new memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
