I have three children that are very picky eaters. I would say that a bird probably eats more than the three combined. Is the meal plan going to be any savings with my three eaters?

    Christopher,

You could forgo the plan.  Many kids' meals are large and could be shared, or you could get an adult meal for all three to split.  However, the deciding factor (in my opinion) would be how many character meals you plan to have.    (I specify character meals both because most families with kids go to one or two, and also because most are buffets where the children will be charged even if they don't eat)

For example, breakfast at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary would be $10.99 for a child 3-9 years old.  Since the children's dining plan is only $9.99/day, you'd save money by buying it and you'd get a counter service meal and a snack in addition to that character meal.  (Prices subject to change of course, but this is the current rate)

Our family eats a lot of character meals and table service meals, so even though our kids may not be big eaters, it still makes more financial sense to buy the dining plan.  If you plan on doing many character meals then the same will be true for your family.

If you're not doing any, or only one or two, you could possibly save money by forgoing the dining plan but you'd have to consider how it would impact the adults in your party.  If the adults would eat the food and would be saving money on the plan, then you're most likely still better off to buy the plan for everyone.

I have 3 small children who eat lightly as well.  We've done a cost analysis on the dining plan several times and my family always comes out ahead by using it.

I hope that helps you make your decision.  :)
