Hi Disney friend! Welcome to planDisney. How exciting that you are bringing a little one to visit the Disneyland Resort. Let's talk through how Rider Switch works so everyone has an opportunity to experience the magic of
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park.
As you may know,
Rider Switch allows adults to take turns enjoying an attraction while one person waits with the child. Let’s briefly review how it works so we can talk about your situation. To use Rider Switch, bring your entire group to the attraction entrance and let a Cast Member know you’d like to use this option. Your group will then be divided into two parties. Party A rides first while Party B waits with the infant. A Cast Member will then scan the eligible Guest's ticket (or tickets) in Party B and explain where to return after Party A finishes riding. Once Party A finishes riding, up to two Guests from Party B can return and experience the attraction without waiting in the standard queue.
Based on your group of three adults and one infant, two adults could ride the attraction as part of Party A, while one adult waits. Then the waiting adult and one of the adults from Party A could ride together as Party B. This will allow everyone in your group who is able to experience the attraction at least once.
To help you prepare for your visit and determine which attractions may need Rider Switch, I would recommend reviewing the list of attractions that have Rider Switch available. Both the
Disneyland website and the
Disneyland app have filters available so you can quickly see which attractions you can ride as a group and which ones would need Rider Switch. Both also have a filter to indicate which attractions are good for all ages so you can experience the magic together.
