Hi, Heather! We're so grilled to see you here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Grilled cheese can probably be found on many theme park menus, but at "The House of the Mouse," they serve up some yummy twists on this classic American favorite. I've tried a few myself (usually in the form of my picky Mouseketeers' leftovers, and they are very
gouda! Here are my top nine picks:
1.
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop's Grilled Cheese and Creamy Tomato Soup (save some room for the Kitchen Sink afterward)!
2.
Woody's Lunch Box's Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich (order this with a side of Totchos).
3.
The Wave... of American Flavors' Grilled Cheese served on Homemade Rainbow Bread (my kiddos gave this one a thumb up).
4.
The Edison's Organic Tomato Soup and Gooey Grilled Cheese (you had me at the word gooey)!
5.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works Kids' Grilled Cheese (just a good standard old fashioned grilled cheese).
6.
The Plaza Restaurant's Kids Grilled Cheese (everything tastes better with a view of Cinderella Castle).
7.
Planet Hollywood's Pimento Grilled Cheese (this big boy is layered with homemade mac & cheese).
8.
Le Cellier Steakhouse's Kids' Grilled Cheese (get a side of the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup for dipping).
9.
Be Our Guest's Chip's Delight (This grilled cheese and noodle soup combo is only available at lunch).
Keep in mind that even if a grilled cheese sandwich isn't listed on the menu, I know from experience from traveling with very picky eaters that grilled cheese sandwiches are available in many locations- all you have to do is ask. Also, two of my kiddos, who are 11 and 15, still frequently order off the kids' menus (and I know a few adults who do as well), so don't worry about a stigma being attached since your son is older.
Mickey and I hope you have a
grate time (cheesy puns intended), Heather!
