Third trip to WDW First time in Deluxe (Beach Club). Upgraded because traveling w/ 5 this time. Any locations in this resort that should be requested or avoided? Since the upgrade from moderate is a little pricey, any tips for a magical trip are welcome.

    Hi Becky,

The Beach Club resort is my family's absolute favorite!

There are no "bad rooms" at the Beach Club. I have found that the definition of "best room" varies from guest to guest. Some people like to be on the ground floor or near an elevator for safety or convenience. My husband prefers to be on a high floor away from the elevator to be away from possible noise issues. If you have something particular that you want in a room location (floor, proximity to lobby or pool, view, etc.), you should make your wishes known both when you make your reservation and when you check in. Requests are not guaranteed, but Disney does make a solid effort to accommodate guests' needs.

Of course, one of the very best things about the Beach Club is the pool. Stormalong Bay is BY FAR the best pool at Walt Disney World. It's really like a mini water park all by itself. There are two slides, a sandy-bottom area for castle building, a lazy river for floating in a raft, waterfalls and a rushing whirlpool. AWESOME! To get the most out of the Beach Club experience you should plan to spend several afternoons enjoying the pool.

One of my family's favorite things about the Beach Club is the ease of access to dining options. Within a few minute walk you can get to all the restaurants at the Yacht & Beach Clubs, Swan & Dolphin, Boardwalk and Epcot's World Showcase. When we stay at the Beach Club, we plan almost all our evening meals in this area. This way we can eat and then take a leisurely stroll back to the room. There's no fussing with buses or other transportation with tired, cranky kids. VERY relaxing.

Be sure to take a walk around the Boardwalk in the evening. There is free entertainment such as musicians and magicians to entertain the kids. You can also rent a surrey bike for some good old fashioned fun.

Enjoy every minute of your trip!
