We are thinking about visiting the week before Christmas this year. It will be 2 adults and our 4 kids age range 3-7 years old. I was wondering if we could get a room at Port Orleans Riverside that has the trundle beds or where do you suggest staying?

Hi, Tiffany!  Because you are a family of six, you would have to find accommodations that permit six guests.  If you are looking to stick to a budget, you might want to try the All Star Music Family Suites.  These suites can accommodate up to six guests, have two full bathrooms, and there is a separate bedroom for Mom and Dad, so if you want the kids to go to sleep earlier than you would like to, you can tuck them in on the fold out options (there are three of them that will sleep up to four people), and retreat to the bedroom, which has it's own television.  The suites also have a small refrigerator and a microwave, which can not only help save a little money on a quick breakfast or bedtime snack, but you also have a time saver in having the ability to give the kids some cereal or yogurt for breakfast, while rotating through the showers.

Another option would be the cabins at the Ft. Wilderness campground.  The cabins also sleep up to six people, and although they are a bit more expensive, they offer every comfort of home, including an outside deck, access to a BBQ grill, full kitchen facilities, and bunk beds for two of the kids!

You can book two rooms and request adjoining rooms at any resort, but they cannot guarantee the adjoining rooms.  They do try their best to accommodate families in this type of situation.

Lastly, check out the Disney Vacation Club resorts.  They have villas there that can accommodate your family, plus offer full kitchens, washers and dryers, and a fabulous whirlpool tub.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation, no matter which accommodation you choose!
