    We were thinking about visiting for the first time next January. What do you think about that time of the year and weather down there. Are the water rides still open?

    How exciting to be planning your first Disney vacation Gail! January is typically a great time to go, average weather, with an average low of 49 degrees and an average high of 71. Note that the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will be January 7-10, 2010, so it tends to be a bit busier before and after that weekend. Usually one water park is closed for refurbishment during the winter months.
