Thinking about trip Aug 22-29 or Oct 3-10,'09 w/ DD7 & DD4.IIs one of these weeks a better time to visit? Will have car.Wilderness Cabins, POFQ & ASM Fam Suite. Which would you choose?

If I had to choose between the two weeks you suggest, I would most definitely choose October, mostly because of the weather. You are likely to experience low or moderate crowds on either of the weeks you mention, but it will be significantly cooler in October and you will have a reduced chance of severe rain. The beginning of October is one of the times that is always suggested as a perfect time for a WDW visit: low prices, low crowds, fine weather. What more could you want?

There are pros and cons to each of the lodging options you suggest.

    Fort Wilderness Cabins:
Pro - lots of outdoor space, lots of living space, two separate rooms, full kitchen
Con - Fort Wilderness is large and possibly confusing, depending on your location travel times may be long

    Port Orleans French Quarter:
Pro- Beautiful themeing, use of amenities at both Port Orleans resorts, fun pool
Con - Not as much living space

    All Star Music Family Suites:
Pro- Two bathrooms, kitchenette, two separate rooms
    Con- limited on-site dining options

I could argue for any one of these as a great place for a family. Right now, with my three tween-age daughters, I'd choose the All-Star suites because time at the bathroom mirror is big for us :-). But when my girls were smaller, I probably would have chosen Port Orleans.

    Happy planning!
