Thinking of tent camping at Ft. Wilderness the last week of Aug. Does it tend to rain a lot then? Also, are towels included at the comfort stations or would we need to pack our own? Thanks!

Hi, Melissa!  Towels are definitely something you will need to bring.  The comfort stations do not have bath towels, so you'll want to bring some to dry off.

The last week of August usually sees a quick moving afternoon rain each day.  It's the tropical nature of Central Florida, so you should have a tarp or something to put on the ground under the tent to keep dry.  These are often fairly heavy thunderstorms, which dump quite a bit of rain, but they are typically brief, so they won't ruin your whole day.

I hope you have a great stay at Fort Wilderness!
