We are thinking of taking a trip in December to Disneyworld and we were wondering if the water parks are open then? Thank you

Hi, Douglas! I am so glad you stopped by with this splashtastic question! We try to make the water parks part of our summer vacations every year. My little thrill seeker is so excited that she is finally tall enough for Summit Plummet at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park this year. I have to confess that I am a little nervous about that and may not be able to watch. If anyone needs me, I will be floating along Cross Country Creek with her sister!

The best thing about Florida's warm climate is that you really can take advantage of the water parks throughout the year, even during the winter. Usually during these winter months, the water parks will alternate being closed for refurbishment to spiff up a bit. Since they alternate, there will be one scheduled to be open each day. Queen Elsa does cast a cold spell on the area for a few days each year, leading to a closure here and there. Otherwise, at least one of the water parks should be open for your December visit. My family has visited during December for several years and we have found a wide range of temperatures. Some days we will be dressed in shorts and tees, while other days we may need jeans or a jacket. Check the weather in the week leading up to your trip to see if a splashtastic day is in your forecast.

Thank you for visiting us today and please let us know if you think of any other questions as you continue to plan your trip!
