We are thinking of taking our 1st cruise next Christmas (2017). Are water temps warm enough for excursions? We live in Florida so we know here the temps are cold...wasn't sure about caribbean waters. Can't decide between Aug or Dec. Suggestions?

    Ahoy, Amanda!
It's wonderful to hear from you again! I know it is a tough decision to decide when to set sail on your first magical voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line! In the Caribbean, water temperatures typically range anywhere from the mid 70s to around 80 in December. I think you'll find Castaway Cay, Disney's private oasis in the Bahamas, to be around the mid to upper 70s. If the outside temperatures are in the mid to upper 80s, the water will feel quite refreshing. In August, the outside and water temperatures will be similar to what you experience at home in the late summer months. Both times have their advantages! August will be warmer, but December will allow your crew to experience the magic of Disney Cruise Line during the holidays!
No matter what time of year your family decides to set sail, you'll have a wonderful experience! The beloved Disney Characters, amazing crew, family friendly accommodations, delicious cuisine, fabulous amenities and activities will all contribute to a memorable family vacation on the high seas! You really can't go wrong.
It is my pleasure to assist you with all your cruise questions, Amanda! Please let us know if you think of anything else!
    Have a magical day!
