I am thinking about taking a Bahamas cruise in December 2016. What is the water temperature like? Will the kids be able to go snorkeling?

Welcome aboard, Amy! Setting sail with Disney Cruise Line in the winter months is my family's favorite time to enjoy a cruise vacation! I am really happy to hear that you're considering heading out to sea with Captain Mickey and his crew this winter yourself!

You can expect summer-like weather in the Bahamas in the winter, with highs in the upper 70's to low 80's. Of course, evenings at sea tend to be a bit breezy which makes the air feel cooler, so I always pack a light jacket or sweater to keep me warm, but during the days it's bathing suits and shorts!

Onboard, the ships' pools are heated should the temperature drop below 75 degrees, so swimming on the ship is always enjoyable. The ocean water temperatures near the beaches in the Bahamas tend to have average water temperatures in December of mid to upper 70's, so again, pretty comfortable. When we've visited Castaway Cay and Nassau in the winter, our whole family has enjoyed snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, and just playing in the ocean. I'm sure you'll find the same!

Have fun as you begin planning your cruise, Amy!
