We are thinking of staying in All Star Movies Resort on our next trip. Can someone compare the amenities of All Star Movies vs. Carribean Beach and Coronado? We want a place with nice dining and a fun pool. Thanks!

    Hi Scott,

The All Star Movies resort is in the value resort category. Caribbean Beach and Coronado are in the moderate resort category. There are a number of things to consider in this difference.

    > Room size. Standard value rooms are about 260 square feet. Standard moderate rooms are about 315 square feet.
    > Pools. The All Star pools are just regular flat pools. The moderate pools have some slides and water play features. Also there are some sandy areas for digging at the Coronado and CB.
    >Beds. Standard value rooms have double beds. Standard moderates have queen beds.
    > Dining. Value resorts have only a food court. Moderates have a food court plus at least one table service restaurant and a nicer lounge.
    > Recreation. Values only have basic poolside games. Moderates may have bike and water sports rentals.

Overall, the All Stars are great for a budget experience. If I'm at WDW for a quick trip where I'll be in the parks all day (and barely in my room) and I don't want to splurge, I'll stay at a value resort. (However I prefer the Pop Century to the All Stars.) If you're there for a relaxing trip where you'll spend a bit of time at the hotel, then I'd opt for one of the moderates.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
