We are thinking about staying at GF in March of 2012 but are a little hesitant because we wonder if we are not "fancy" enough to stay here. Will we feel out of place in our shorts and t-shirts or do we need to be dressed more business casual to

Hi Douglas! The Grand Floridian is a luxurious, upscale hotel, but shorts and t-shirts are definitely not out-of-place there! Dress at Walt Disney World is decidedly casual, and most guests wear t-shirts and shorts or other casual clothing to visit the parks and dine in the restaurants. Two of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian, Narcoossees and Citricos, do have a dress code, but t-shorts and dress shorts are acceptable under it. (Only the adult restaurant Victoria & Albert's requires more formal attire.)

My family has stayed at the Grand Floridian many times over the years, and we love it. I know many people worry that such a fancy hotel will be stuffy or not kid-friendly, but nothing could be farther from the truth. If you enjoy luxurious hotels with plush decor and amenities such as turndown service, you'll enjoy the Grand Floridian. The rooms are very large and have helpful extra touches, such as a clothes hamper. The hotel has a prime location on the monorail right next to the Magic Kingdom, and nothing beats walking through the lobby of your resort while a live orchestra is playing. It's quite an upscale resort, but it's still Disney World after all, so theme park attire is the norm there.
