I was thinking about staying on Disney property before and after our cruise, but can I leave me car at the resort while we are on the cruise? We plan to take the Disney cruise bus from the resort to Port.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Monica!

You are only a couple short months away from setting sail with Captain Mickey - how exciting!  I can't think of a better way to round out your Disney Cruise Line vacation than adding some time at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel!  Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is our family's favorite place to stay before a cruise.  We can relax and watch the animals before starting out on our high seas adventure.  The smell in the lobby always makes me feel at home.

When staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, parking is available while you are checked into the resort.  Overnight parking is reserved only for guests registered and staying on property that night.  If departing the resort, your vehicle does need to come with you.

Have you considered driving to Port Canaveral from the Walt Disney World Resort?  My family has done this quite a few times and have found it to be an easy drive.  We pick up Mickey snacks on the way out of the resort and make the drive a mini-road trip!  It is exciting to cross the bridge, pull up to the port and have a great view of your ship waiting for you!  The drive takes us about an hour or so, depending on any stops we decide we must make along the way.  Parking at Port Canaveral is very convenient and right next to the terminal.  You can visit the Disney Cruise Line website for specifics on parking rates.  Sometimes I find the cost to drive to port is lower for our family than utilizing the transfers.  There are some tolls, so don't forget to plan for them when driving to the port.  Make it an adventure and enjoy the journey.

Enjoy making magical memories!  Bon voyage!  Angie
