Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question, Farrah! How exciting you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation! According to the independent website allears.net, late April through early June (except Memorial Day Weekend) is categorized as "moderate attendance." Memorial Day Weekend is categorized as "highest attendance." My family almost always plans our Walt Disney World vacation for the week leading up to Memorial Day including Memorial Day weekend. I can honestly say that the crowd levels have always been lowest at the beginning of our trip. Based on my own personal experience, I would plan to visit during the two weeks leading up to Memorial Day, rather than one week on either side. As a Georgia resident, I know that many schools in Georgia release for summer break just prior to Memorial Day. I think you may find that more children will be out for summer break if you choose to visit the week after Memorial Day. With that being said, it can be quite difficult to predict crowd levels with 100% certainty. One additional benefit of arriving earlier in May is the
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival which is being held from March 6 to May 19, 2013. Follow the link provided to learn more about this popular annual event. You will also be visiting during
Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This special event is on my family's "must do" list every year. I hope this information helps in making your decision. Please don't hesitate to visit me again with any additional questions. Best wishes for a
magical "crowd free" trip, Farrah!
Happy Planning,
Jodie
