Thinking of joining DVC. Curious how tough it is to make reservations at a WDW DVC resort that is not your "home" resort if you make reservations at the earliest time you are allowed. Plan on taking vacations Pres day week (Feb). Esp intereste

    Hi Carol,

I really enjoy my Disney Vacation Club membership! It has allowed my family so many opportunities to travel to the Walt Disney World Resorts that we would never have been able to experience.

You can book another resort at seven months in advance of check in. Your home resort allows you exclusive booking from 11 to eight months in advance of check in.

I would make my reservation for President's week or the week I wanted to vacation at the 11 month mark at my home resort. I would then set a reminder to myself to call back at the seven month mark and check on availability for the resort I would like to vacation at.  If it is available, the reservation can be transferred to the new resort. If it is not available, I would ask to be placed on the wait list for the resort. You will stay on the wait list for a room up to a week ahead of check in.

I have had success moving to another resort on the wait list. However, I have never been disappointed at any of my vacation accommodations.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
