We're thinking about getting tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party & are wondering if this is more of a kid's event or if adults will enjoy too, & also wondering do adults HAVE TO wear customes?

Welcome, not-so-foolish mortal! I'm glad you brought this creepy question to planDisney. And guess what, Dawn? I have a ticket to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and I'll attend with a large group of adults. And to say we're excited doesn't begin to cover it! Let's jump right in and talk about how grown-ups can enjoy some fang-tastic fun at this ticketed-only event.

Walt Disney's goal was to create a place where adults could have fun alongside children, and that dream led to the theme parks we know and love. So this after-hours Halloween party is the perfect example of his vision. You'll see children devouring more candy than humanly possible and adults gathering treats just as quickly. Some guests will have elaborate and impressive costumes, while others wear comfortable jeans and tees. Just like Walt envisioned, all are welcome! My best advice is to follow your heart and jump right in.

If you're debating wearing a costume, there are some creepy compromises you can consider. I've seen adults and kids attend these events in regular park attire, but adding some spooky flair, like a Halloween-themed shirt, is extra fun. You could also opt for orange, green, and purple clothes. But my top tip is to Disneybound! This is when you dress in the color scheme of a Disney character and add a few themed accessories. I once did a Disneybound as Mr. Smee by wearing a blue and white striped shirt, a red baseball cap, comfy sandals, and parrot earrings! I felt like I was in the spirit but also relaxed and comfy.

If you decide to wear a full costume, please take a look at the Walt Disney World Resort guidelines for Halloween events. And whatever you choose to wear, remember to check that Florida forecast. It's as unpredictable as a haunted stretching room!

Dawn, my final tip is to take advantage of the special virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run that will be available exclusively to party guests during this event. You can join the queue on your My Disney Experience Mobile App at 6:00 PM on the evening you have a valid party ticket. Entering the Grid is the perfect way to get some thrills and chills for Halloween!

Maybe I'll see you at the party, Dawn. Look for me with a big group of adults eating all the party-exclusive snacks. Please stop by planDisney anytime. We're dying to help!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
