I am thinking of buying tickets to After Hours. I read that sometimes people can get in earlier than 7, but I’m scared if I have regular park tix on my MagicBand that scanning early would take a regular admission day off. Do they scan bands the same way?

Hi Sarah and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question about Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park!

I think buying tickets for this event is a great idea! You get to enjoy limited wait times at some of your favorite attractions all around the Magic Kingdom Park, and complimentary treats like popcorn and ice cream. Sounds like a great night to me!

Guests with event tickets can enter the park as early as 7:00 p.m. If you enter before that time, the ticket system will likely pull a regular park ticket from your account. Your best bet is to wait until 7:00 p.m. to enter and let a Cast Member with a tablet at the entrance know that you will be using your special event ticket for the night. They will help you scan your MagicBand or card and you will be free to enjoy your magical night!

Sarah, when you are ready purchase your Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park ticket, take a look at the dates available to you. You will also notice that the times for this event vary a bit depending on the day it is offered.

Did you know that Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can enjoy a discount on tickets for this event? Your discount will show up automatically if you’re logged in to your My Disney Experience account when you’re purchasing tickets.

I hope this information is helpful to you while you continue to plan your next magical visit! Come back to see us if you have any more questions! Helping you with your planning is our pleasure!
