I am thinking of booking a trip in August to with the free dining plan, but I am really undecided between coronado springs and port Orleans riverside. I am going with my husband and a 14 and 11 year old girls. Which one would be a better choice?

Hi, Laura!  You've given yourself a really tough choice!  I love both of these resorts for different reasons, so I'll give you some insight and maybe you'll find one that will work better for your family.

Coronado Springs Resort is a large, sprawling, beautiful resort.  You'll find a very deluxe feel at this moderate resort, and you'll find amenities such as full service dining (Maya Grill), a food court (The Pepper Market), and a lounge where you can get an evening cocktail or a quick appetizer or snack.  There is a health club and salon, and you'll find an awesome main pool area with a Mayan temple theme.  The downside to this resort is that large, sprawling part.  You can find yourself a good walk away from the main building or the main pool area, but there is an internal shuttle service you can use for some things.

Port Orleans Riverside is much smaller feeling, as the buildings aren't sprawled out quiet like they are at the Coronado Springs.  The theme here will definitely give you the feeling you've been transported to down on the bayou, with a combination of rustic lodge type rooms and plantation style rooms.  Riverside Mill is the food court here, and there is a full service restaurant that highlight Cajun cuisine called Boatwright's.  The River Roost Lounge will provide a cold drink or some light appetizers.  There is a wonderfully themed pool, and activities like catch and release fishing and an enormous arcade.

Either resort would be perfectly wonderful, depending on what's important to you.  I love the sprawling feel of Coronado, and I love the Louisiana theme of Riverside.  It's so hard to choose, but evaluate what you're most looking for, and see which of these resorts offers you the most of those things!
