Welcome aboard, Merryl! Disney Cruise Line offers so many exciting Port Adventures in each port but one that stands out as a favorite of mine was my time at Blue Lagoon in Nassau. My daughter and I enjoyed an amazing day on the
Blue Lagoon Island Dolphin Swim adventure. While we were there, we saw other guests participating in the
Blue Lagoon Island Dolphin Encounter, the shallow water experience you mentioned.
We certainly received our money's worth during the full swim experience! There were only four of us in our particular group, with two dolphins and two trainers, so it was very hands on and personal. The dolphins hugged us, let us pet them, retrieved gifts of rocks for us from the bottom of the pool, danced with us, showed off a bit, and then pushed us across the pool - the highlight of the experience for sure! I highly recommend the full dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon if you're able to do it!
However, the dolphin encounter there looked wonderful too! The groups were small and the guests seemed to enjoy their experience with the dolphins, as they had quite a bit of interaction with those beautiful creatures! Of course, no matter which of the two Blue Lagoon dolphin adventures you choose, after the dolphin portion is over, guests have the rest of the day to explore, play, and relax at the Blue Lagoon beach on their own, and a few return times are available to choose depending on how your day goes. We loved our lunch at the beach and some time relaxing and exploring the gorgeous sand and waters there!
Our experience there is something we will always remember, and my daughter still has the framed photo of her with one of the dolphins hanging in her room. Such a special experience!
