Thinking about booking a 4 day Disney cruise in 2013 - I have heard that there are no character meals on the shorter cruises - is this true? What about character meet and greets? Are the lines extremely long like they are in the parks? Thanks for info!

Great to hear from you again Greg!
From the time you enter the Disney Cruise Line terminal you will be greeted by some of your favorite Disney characters!  The first photo op in Port Canaveral is in front of the beautiful model of the Disney Magic, and it is always one of my most favorite pictures of our whole cruise!  What I love about being at sea with Disney is that they provide ample opportunities to interact with Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the gang.  You are correct that there are no character meals on the shorter cruises but Disney makes up for it by having the characters located around the ship for various "Meet & Greet,s."  The lines are very manageable and move quickly even though they are giving autographs, taking photos and interacting with each Guest.  While you might just run into Peter Pan coming down the staircase, most character opportunities are listed in your Personal Navigator, your daily cruise newsletter.  It will give you the time frame for the character visit as well as the location.  I always carry my Personal Navigator and camera around with me so my family doesn't miss a thing!  Another tip is if you see an anchor symbol located next to the activity in the newsletter, it means it will be an activity repeated again during your cruise!  Characters also like to stop into the youth spaces onboard to participate in some of the kids' club activities!
I hope this information helps you with your planning!  Feel free to let me know any other questions you may have during your booking process.  I'm always here to help!
    Have a magical day!
