We are thinking about booking CBR. How many minutes walk from standard room in Martinique to OPR vs. Aruba/Jamaica to OPR? Walking distance is a concern. We heard about an internal bus that loops the resort. How does this work, how often etc?

Hi, Lori! Thanks for stopping by with your question. To me, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the prettiest and most relaxing Walt Disney World Resort hotels. It is modeled after resorts in the Caribbean, even taking the names of the six villages within the Resort from the islands of the Caribbean. The vibrantly colorful two-story buildings within each village surround a tranquil Barefoot Bay. You will find a walking path along this lagoon that will lead you to Old Port Royale, the epicenter of this Resort hotel's life.

If I had to choose any of the villages for my family's vacation, I would definitely go for the ones you mentioned. Martinique is the closest to Old Port Royale, where you will find the gift shop, arcade and dining options. You can usually walk to Old Port Royale from this area within five to eight minutes. There are standard rooms in the Aruba and Jamaica villages that are just as close. I would plan on an eight to ten minute walk from those areas to Old Port Royale.

If you prefer to not walk from your room to Old Port Royale, there are seven bus stops across the Resort that you can utilize. Buses headed to the theme parks will stop at each of the six villages and finally Old Port Royale before heading out of the Resort. The timing of the buses does depend greatly on the time of day and where you may be headed. However, you should find a bus for your destination circling the Resort at least every 20 minutes.

I hope this helps you plan your stay a little easier, Lori. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
