Hi, we are thinking about going to Boma for my 2 year olds birthday and were hoping to do smores after (coming from overseas this is still very novel for us). I dont think we will have time to get back to the carribean beach can we join in smores at akl?

Hello, Louise! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

You and your family will definitely love your celebratory dinner at Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! We went there for our anniversary dinner a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. Make sure you arrive hungry, though, as you will need lots of room in your bellies (and maybe even some stretchy pants) to enjoy all of the delicious food on the buffet. Also make sure to ask for complimentary “I’m Celebrating” or “Happy Birthday” buttons for your Party to acknowledge your two-year-old’s big day.

I’m not sure how many people will be in your Party, but I would also recommend arriving a little early to see if you can possibly get a table by a window. We were able to do this, and it was so amazing to see some of the animals roaming by outside the restaurant while we dined. If it’s dark at the time of your reservation, make sure you spend some time outside after dinner where you can view the animals using special night vision goggles available near the fire pit.

You can certainly partake in the s’mores campfire experience at Jambo House while you’re there, too. Just ask your host or hostess for directions and they’ll let you know where you need to go to join in on the fun. You’ll be able to roast marshmallows over an open fire, and you can also purchase s’mores kits with graham crackers and chocolate to make the experience even more magical. Please be advised that these experiences can be changed or canceled at any time, though (especially if inclement weather is in the area).

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Louise! Please let us know if you have any additional questions about your upcoming vacation. We’re more than happy to help.
